The Living Lord's Supper

We are excited to announce a unique opportunity we will have again during Holy Week at Love’s Grove this year! We will be meeting the 12 Disciples of Jesus up close at a dramatic production called The Living Lord’s Supper. Through each disciple’s witness we will relive the events that occurred in Jerusalem during the time leading up to Jesus’ crucifixion. They will teach us some valuable, timeless lessons about Christian discipleship. The heart of their message is that their example of serving and living for Christ must not be limited to the twelve, or to church leaders and missionaries.   Discipleship is for all of us!   The faith of Peter, the love of John and the belief of Thomas must live in all our hearts if we are to be followers of Jesus and servants of His Kingdom on earth. Come so you can receive the blessing God promises to bring through this time of worship.

Good Friday Service

Experiencing the Passion of Christ

The Tenebrae Service is one of the oldest Holy Week traditions of the Christian Church. "Tenebrae" is the Latin word meaning "shadows." The Tenebrae Service tells in experimental form the story of Jesus' passion. As the service unfolds, symbolic candles are extinguished and the sanctuary is darkened to depict the final hours of Jesus' life, dramatizing the impact of his death on the cross. We will travel to Golgotha, the place where Jesus was crucified. We will behold his broken body and retell the story of Jesus' final hours on earth through scripture, meditation and song. When all the candles are extinguished the Christ candle will be brought in as a symbol of Resurrection hope. There is nothing left to say until the power of God brings forth the Resurrected Christ on Easter morning.
